One of Heaton Harriers member is rising money for Unicef and is planning a motorbike trip from Newcastle to India later this spring.

A fund raising evening is planned for the 12th February with Atheltic guess speakers, raffles and food.

Jim Alder MBE and Sharon Joyner will be giving informal presentations about their careeer and around athletics in general. Jim Alder won Marathon Gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in 1966 and Sharon Joyner is an ultra runner
