A note from the network chairman
Dear All,
2010 will go down as a truly great year in my lifetime. Not only did I did meet a sporting legend that is Marion Fawkes (the first British female World Champion) but I also met like-minded people who could see beyond the realms of the own sports club.
With their wisdom, guidance, and expertise we managed to create a unique organisation that is NOTAN, and secure funding that many thought was beyond us. Together with our partner organisations we have created 32 new athletics coaches. Consequently, more than 500 new athletes are participating in our sport.
Amongst our many successes this year, none served the people of NOTAN better than when winning the Club Partnership of the Year Award at the Regional Athletics Sports Awards in October 2010.
2011, for all the Government cut backs on spending, should be a better year by far. Plans are afoot to create new activities on our regional athletics calendar including an Inter-NOTAN Games, an open athletics meeting, cross-country relays races, holiday athletics camps, after-school athletics academies and an opportunity for clubs and coaches to work towards a more integrated future.
Well done everyone,
Tommy Brannon
NOTAN Chairman
